Loving your children for who they are

Last night on one of our favorite shows-"What would you do" they were doing an experiment to see what people would do if they saw a parent showing favoritism for one child over another.  It got me thinking how could we as parents outright show more love to one child over another…it just seems impossible to me I love both my girls differently but equally.  I could never imagine saying this one is the pretty one or she is the talented one etc., I have said this one is a good sleeper etc. but I don't call that labeling….so love your kids for who they are individually and praise their creativity, talent or just who they are and remember all of the things they teach us daily.  My list starts with how to not sweat the small stuff, how to love and live in the moment, how to stop and smell the roses, and to give lots of hugs and kisses!

Read across America-MARCH 2, 2011

March 2, 2011 is read across America Day and also Dr. Seuss' Birthday so grab your kids and some friends with kids and celebrate!! The website below has some good ideas to print and book suggestions to dig into.  Reading with our children is such an important way to teach children about their world and to create family traditions that will be memories for a lifetime.
